Business Days Calculator

Count the number of business days (Monday–Friday) between two dates — handy for shipping estimates, deadlines, and contracts.

About this tool

"Business days" is one of those terms everyone understands loosely and almost nobody counts correctly on the first try, because the moment you try to count them across a date range that spans a weekend, you have to consciously skip Saturday and Sunday rather than just counting every day in between — an easy step to forget when you're counting quickly, especially over a longer range where you'd need to skip several weekends in a row.

This matters more than it might seem because business-day estimates are exactly the kind of number people commit to publicly — shipping estimates, contract deadlines, response-time promises — where being off by even a couple of days because of a miscounted weekend has real consequences, unlike a rough personal estimate that nobody's holding you to.

This tool automates that counting directly: give it a start and end date, and it counts only the weekdays in between, correctly skipping every Saturday and Sunday regardless of how many weekends the range crosses. It doesn't account for public holidays, since those vary by country and calendar — for pure weekday counting, though, it removes the exact kind of manual counting error that's easy to make and hard to notice until it's already caused a problem.

How to use it
  1. Pick a start and end date.
  2. Press Count business days.
  3. See the total, excluding weekends.
