Quarter Progress Bar

A live progress bar showing what percentage of the current business quarter (Q1–Q4) has elapsed.

About this tool

Business quarters are a scheduling unit that doesn't map onto any natural calendar rhythm the way a month or a week does — a quarter is just three consecutive months grouped together for reporting purposes, which means tracking progress through one requires knowing not just today's date, but which quarter that date falls into and how many days that specific quarter actually spans.

That extra layer of lookup is exactly why a quarter progress calculation is a bit more involved than a month progress one: you first have to determine which quarter you're in (Q1 through Q4, based on standard calendar quarters), then calculate the elapsed percentage within that specific three-month span, and the exact start and end dates of that span shift depending on which quarter it is.

This tool handles both steps automatically: it identifies the current calendar quarter and calculates a live percentage of how far through it the current moment falls — useful for anyone tracking quarterly goals, sales targets, or reporting periods, though it's worth noting this assumes quarters aligned to the calendar year, which won't match every company's fiscal calendar if theirs is offset from January.

How to use it
  1. Just open the page — it calculates live from today's date.
FAQ
How are quarters defined?

Standard calendar quarters: Q1 = Jan–Mar, Q2 = Apr–Jun, Q3 = Jul–Sep, Q4 = Oct–Dec.

Does this match my company's fiscal quarters?

Only if your fiscal year follows the calendar year — some companies use offset fiscal quarters, which this tool doesn't account for.
